| Required Immunization |
As of July 1, 2011, the State of California is mandating that all students entering grades 7-12 be immunized with a pertussis vaccine booster (Tdap) before they attend school for 2011-2012.
Assembly Bill 354 was signed into law in September 2010. As a result, students entering or advancing to grades seven through twelve in the 2011–12 school year are required to be immunized with a pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine booster called Tetanus Toxoid, Reduced Diphtheria Toxoid and Acellular Pertussis (Tdap). The new requirement goes into effect July 1, 2011, for one year and affects all students—current, new, and transfers—in public and private schools. The law changes for the 2012–13 school year and beyond. On July 1, 2012, AB 354 will require only students who are entering or advancing into grade seven to be immunized with Tdap. Here is the complete informational document.

students proceed through courses of study, while completing
individualized assignment packets; all course work is completed in
the Learning Center. A credentialed teacher is always present to
assist and supervise students. The courses offered are standard

California High School Proficiency Examination
(CHSPE) |
The California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE), a separate test not administered by Conejo Valley Adult School, is for students who need to verify high school level skills. In some cases, students take the test and leave high school early to work or attend college. Those who pass the test receive a Certificate of Proficiency from the State Board of education, which is equal by law to a California high school diploma.
Individuals may take the CHSPE if they are 16 years of age. Younger students meeting certain criteria are also allowed to take the test. The CHSPE is given three times each year at various sites in California.
The test covers three subjects: reading, writing and math.
There is a fee to take the test. Details. |
