In Memoriam:
Teacher Ruth Canfield

Ruth Canfield, long-time teacher at Conejo Valley Adult School, passed away Aug. 13, 2011. The Canfield family has been a part of CVAS for as long as our school has existed. Everyone who ever knew Ruth was touched by her wonderful, kind and loving spirit, and we are all the better for having thegood fortune to have known her. Our hearfelt condolences go to her family. Laura Cifuentes, Ruth's daughter, is currently an instructor at CVAS.

The Ruth Canfield Memorial Fund has been established through the Conejo Schools Foundation. Laura Cifuentes, Ruth's daughter, who teaches at CVAS, and her family know that Ruth would have wanted to help ESL, Literacy, GED and Bridge students who are economically disadvantaged, but have definite goals to transitioning to a vocational program and/or community college.

Specific guidelineshave been set for the scholarships, and a committee has been formed to ensure thos guidelines are enforced. If you would like to contribute, a donation can be made to the Conejo Schols Foundation. Please specify that the donation goes to "The Ruth Ann Canfield Memorial Fund."
