Machine Quilting
Have fun with quilting techniques, appliqués, and gift making. Quilters will need to have access to their own sewing machines. Some extra machines will be available in class. All skill levels welcome.

Instructor: Trudy Smith has a background in quilting receiving several awards for her quilting ideas. One of her quilts has travelled to Japan and Spain. She markets a game called, “Quilto” used at quilt guilds, retreats and wherever quilters gather. She is all about inspiring you to jump into the art of quilting and having fun while you learn the required skills. Bring basic sewing supplies to the first class and show and tell.

Machine Quilting
Basic techniques of machine piecing and quilting.“Quick-methods”using a rotary cutter and strip sewing to make pieced quilts. Three–four different quilt patterns will be taught. Lab: open to students currently enrolled in a quilting class for working on your own projects with supervision and design input from the teacher.

Instructor: Lujean Seagal has a B.A. in Fine Arts and full time teaching credential in adult education in textiles. She enjoys leadership in S. Cal Quilt Guilds, National Quilt sociation and Conejo Valley Quilters. Her experience includes instructional lectures at over 50 quilt guilds and she has created numerous pieces for individuals and corporations.

Stitchery Needlework
This course teaches knitting, crochet and basic and unusual stitchery techniques.

Instructor: Pam Dixon has taught home economics classes at the high school level and needlework classes for Conejo Valley Adult Education since 1984.

Aerobic Dance
This course is geared especially for older adults. It includes dance and limited aerobics to improve cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, and weight control

Instructor: Sue Reisender has been a credentialed teacher for Adult Education for twenty years. She has been an accredited aerobics instructor for more than twenty-five years.

Sculpture: Mixed Media

Instructor: Dominique Colell. Dominique Colell Graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and a Masters in Education. She traveled and studied sculpture in Alaska and New York, painting in China and Printmaking in Peru. She has received numerous awards including a bronze medal at the 2003 World Ice Carving Championships in Alaska.

Spanish Advanced
Students will receive training in speaking, understanding, reading, writing, and grammar as well as an introduction to the culture of the people who speak Spanish. Teacher’s permission is necessary to join the class after it has begun.

Instructor: Kyra Sovero grew up in Argentina and has traveled to Peru, Mexico, Spain and Ecuador. She has a master’s degree in Spanish from UCLA with teaching experience of 25 years.

Painting – Oil/Acrylic
This course is designed for all levels of painting – according to the needs of each individual student. Goebel Center students will purchase their own supplies. List provided at first class. Students attending sessions at Conejo Valley Adult School will pay a materials fee upon registration and teacher will provide supplies.

Instructor: Barbara Shannon is an award- winning artist and author of the multimedia textbook Exploring Art Media. For the past 40 years, she has taught art courses for Camarillo and Thousand Oaks High Schools, the Conejo Valley Adult School, and the Gate and Independent Study programs for the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Although she is proficient in all aspects of the visual arts, her personal passion is portraiture. More about your instructor

Yoga Stretch
This class provides yoga style stretching and breathing exercises geared to all fitness levels. Wear comfortable clothing and bring an exercise mat.

Instructor: Jenny Yoon Klossner, M.A. has been practicing Hatha Yoga since 1999. The practice transformed her life physically, mentally, and even relationally which is what motivated her to share this special gift of yoga with others. She received both her 200 and then her 300 hour certification from Yogaworks. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 500 level. She is also certified in YogaEd. Her classes are balanced as she focuses on proper alignment and intelligent sequencing. She teaches yoga, pilates, and strength and stretch classes to adults and seniors throughout the Conejo and the San Fernando Valley. Her teaching is inspired by the profound benefits students express in many areas of their lives. Jenny is also a musician and enjoys singing and playing guitar.
