How to Become a Mystery Shopper

If you like to buy clothes, play golf, watch movies, eat out, rent videos or try new goods or services, then you can become a mystery shopper. Mystery shopping is a way to earn extra money and have fun at the same time. Shoppers receive assignments from companies that do business evaluations. An assignment might be to evaluate a restaurant, retail store, bank, gas station, theater, or any other type of business imaginable. This class will present an overview of how mystery shopping works, what types of assessment forms are used, how to get into the shoppers network, and how to avoid scams.

Instructor: Elaine Moran, is a credentialed instructor and the author of How to Become a Mystery Shopper. Ms. Moran is also a lecturer, consultant and college business instructor. She has been a successful business owner, teacher, administrator, and entrepreneur for her entire adult life. She has taught a variety of business classes in colleges on the West Coast since the mid 1980s, possesses a California Community College Instructor Credential (Lifetime), and has "worked" part time as a mystery shopper for over 20 years! In 2000, Elaine developed the mystery shopping program, which has become tremendously popular. It has been instrumental in helping hundreds of attendees get started in this rapidly growing industry.
