| Art of Mosaic |
 |
Mosaic is an art form that dates back to the 4th century BC. Fortunately, many ancient mosaics have survived to this day due to the durability of the materials and the permanence of the finished piece. The enduring art of the mosaic consists of assembling small pieces of stone, glass or other materials into an image which is usually decorative and often has cultural or spiritual significance.
This class is tailored for the beginning mosaic artist, and encompasses a brief history of mosaic, a summary of materials and tools used, and step-by-step instruction in creating your own decorative mosaic art piece. All materials will be provided. However, if you have tools or materials you would like to use, you are welcome to bring those to class. At the conclusion of this class, you will have a beautiful mosaic creation to enjoy for years to come.
