Do you want to learn the basics of
grantsmanship for nonprofits and what makes a successful grant writer? Learn how to assess "fundability" and map strategies; apply principles of prospect research; and write winning grant proposals. You'll take away key resources as well as samples of successful Letters of Inquiry and Full Proposals in a
number of fields, to make you a more effective fundraiser.
Instructor: Founder & Principal of Edry & Associates(www.edryandassociates.com) Aria Edry brings to her clients over 25 years of successful management and fundraising experience. She has directed development for nonprofits providing arts, cultural and educational services in New York City and Greater Los Angeles. Aria founded and directed The Women's Yellow Pages Project which had such impact on women's lives that it earned a Letter of Commendation from the White House. Aria is also an award-winning choreographer and performing artist, and dressage equestrian. She currently serves on a number of nonprofit boards, and is active with the Santa Barbara/Ventura chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. ()

Wills & Living Trusts
Protect yourself and your family from the horrors of probate and from paying sky-high estate taxes. This seminar will explain the use and interaction of essential estate planning documents, such as a personal will and revocable living trust and a durable power of attorney. Discussion will also include providing a plan for passing family assets while avoiding probate and excessive estate taxes. Other topics to be covered include community property laws, taking title to real estate, conservatorship, marital deductions, and the federal unified tax credit.
