Chair Yoga
Chair Yoga is designed for those who have never taken yoga before, cannot comfortably be on the floor, have arthritis or are recovering from illness or injury. Gentle mindful movements and working with your breath will allow your body to become stronger, more open and flexible. Please bring a yoga mat to safely place your chair.

Therapeutic Yoga

Katlen Ebert combines her experience as a PT with her advanced training in therapeutic yoga to teach a calming yet rejuvenating yoga class. Katlen is particularly adept at tailoring poses for students who may have back injuries, knee issues or other physical limitations. Bring a yoga mat and an extra towel or blanket.

Qi Gong (Chi Gong)

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese exercise which promotes health, wellness, and balance. It also strengthens the body, mind, and soul. Qi Gong takes the ideas of mindfulness and puts them in a physical form that combines breathing and movement. Come and learn the 18 Delightful Qi Gong Movements, taught in a positive energy environment! Qi Gong is easy to learn and takes no special equipment.

Beginning Hiking

Meet at Conejo Valley Adult School’s parking lot for the first class. Thereafter, the class will meet at designated trailheads. Wear sturdy trail-rated hiking shoes and comfortable clothing. Water, sunscreen and a light weight backpack or fanny pack are recommended. A hat, snack, and camera/phone are also a good idea. No previous hiking experience necessary, but capable of hiking 2 miles on trails with gentle slopes.

Instructor: Barrie Silberberg has enjoyed hiking for many years! She is familiar with many trails in the Conejo Valley and will share interesting details at various hiking locations.

Nature Plant Hike
This hike is a cross between a walking tour and a class. We will identify wild native plants and discuss their many uses for food, medicine and more. Students should be capable of hiking 3-5 miles on trails of moderate level difficulty. Please refer to the Beginning Hiking description for suggested gear, and meet at the Adult School parking lot for the first class.

Instructor: Laura Pasetta is trained in therapeutic herbal medicine. She has a passion for the outdoors and local fauna.

Introduction to
Fly Fishing

Go from class room instruction to hands on experience in three weeks! The first session will include instruction on gear, knots, fly selection and fishing location. The second session covers rigging your gear, casting techniques and learning to cast a fly. The final session will find you casting at Lake Casitas and nymph and dry fly fishing at a local stream.

Instructors: Randy Weir & Earl Arnold have over 50 years of fly fishing experience and enjoy teaching others. Both instructors are members of Sespe Flyfishers, and Randy has been guiding on the streams of Ventura County since 1994. (www.tightlinesguide. com).

Tai Chi

Alexander Technique
Not an exercise in the traditional sense, the Alexander Technique applies body alignment principles to reduce stress, fatigue and muscle tension and to counteract chronic pain due to poor posture, neck and shoulder tension and lower back injuries. This introductory class will benefit daily life by increasing the ability to move with ease and freedom. Wear comfortable clothing.
