Capoeira is a great way to get fit and make new friends. This interactive exercise originating from 16th century Brazil incorporates dancing, martial arts, acrobatics, yoga-like movements, music, instruments and more. Classes are broken into various levels so that everyone can do what makes them comfortable. So grab a friend or make a new friend in class and try this beautiful martial art from Brazil.
Instructor: Shira Winitzky known as "Coisa Boa" (meaning Good Thing) trained under Contra Mestre Parafina in Los Angeles. In 2010 she opened her own class, "Capoeira in the Valley". With a background in Hapkido, she switched to Capoeira enjoying the freedom and creativity it encompasses.

Zumba
Zumba is a fusion of Latin/International dance themes combined with fitness moves which provide an exhilarating and effective exercise class. Zumba means to"move fast and have fun" so you don't need to be a dancer or do it "right". There is zero intimidation and you can burn up to 1000 calories in an hour!
Instructor: Dale Schrichten who is known as Mr. Zumba is the top Zumba instructor in Ventura County. He is the only one who is an experienced ballroom dancer and teaches the basic steps. Dale is a professional fitness trainer and can help you achieve your goals while having fun.

Hiking for Fitness
Discover the beautiful trails in our local foothills by joining this hiking class for fitness. The class will meet at designated trailheads, beginning with a mild/moderate level increasing the challenge each week. The hikes will be in the greater Conejo Valley area.
Introducing two levels of hiking class for those who want to discover the
beautiful trails in our local foothills. Meet at Conejo Valley Adult School's parking lot for the first class. Then the classes will meet at designated trailheads, beginning with a mild or moderate hike and increasing the challenge each week. Wear sturdy shoes with a good tread and comfortable clothing in several light layers. A hat, water, snack and sunscreen are recommended.
Instructor: Doug Nickles is a licensed forester, fire prevention officer and former Conejo open space and trail planner.

Classical Mat Pilates
Want to have a beautiful, strong and flexible body? Want to improve your golf, tennis, or horseback riding? Want to eliminate aches and pains? Ready to improve your posture? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this Pilates class is for you! This mat class will introduce beginning and intermediate students to the movements and skills of the Pilates method of body conditioning. Bring your own mat and get ready to move and sweat!
Instructor: Angelica Zhang was a student of Pilates who was so inspired by the method and results that she became a Pilates instructor. She has successfully completed basic, intermediate and advance level training.

Restorative Yoga
Katlen Ebert combines her many years of knowledge as a physical therapist with her love for yoga in a unique and inspired class. Her students describe her classes as “calming” and “rejuvenating.” Katlen is particularly adept at tailoring poses for students who may have back injuries, knee issues or other limitations. "Anybody can come to my class," she says. There is always a way for me to help you adjust. The idea is that my class serves you."
Instructor: Katlen Ebert is a Physical Therapist from Germany. In addition to being certified by the Yoga Alliance as a Yoga teacher, she has also graduated from the Loyola Marymount University Yoga Therapy program and practices as a Yoga Therapist.

Gentle Exercise |
This class offered in partnership with the Arthritis Foundation, wil demonstrate a variety of exercises that can be performed seated, standing or lying down. Alexander Technique
This introductory class will expand your knowledge of the body and how it moves. Not an exercise in the traditional sense, the Alexander Technique applies body alignment principles to reduce stress, fatigue and muscle tension and to counteract chronic pain due to poor posture, neck and shoulder tension and lower back injuries. Tai Chi
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese discipline of meditative movements practiced as a system of exercises. The form of Tai Chi known as Wang Style is a natural movement like that of water and wind. It enhances relaxation,
grace, balance and strength. The instructor also incorporates Qigong, an ancient Chinese energy practice that cultivates the body's natural energy. Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear.
