Improve your posture and core strength through stretching and strengthening techniques from pilates, yoga, and dance. You will stand and sit up straighter and improve your muscle tone. This class is designed for everyone! Sedentary and active people are welcome and will both benefit from the exercises.

Aikido
Aikido, meaning “The Way of Harmony”, is a Japanese martial art that is growing in popularity throughout the world. It is an excellent discipline for self-defense and self-improvement. In this course, the instructor will teach the non-violent techniques of Aikido. You will learn the real power which comes from using distance, motion, speed and projection against an attacker through using your own spiraling, extension and movement. Wear comfortable clothes.
Instructor: Sensei Fule Dogic, is 9th Dan, founder of Renzokukan Aidido, established the American Aikido Federation United Martial Arts in January, 2005 and has taught for thirty years. He is President of the American Aikido and United Martial Artist Federation.

Restorative Yoga
Katlen Ebert combines her many years of knowledge as a physical therapist with her love for yoga in a unique and inspired class. Her students describe her classes as “calming” and “rejuvenating.” Katlen is particularly adept at tailoring poses for students who may have back injuries, knee issues or other limitations. "Anybody can come to my class," she says. There is always a way for me to help you adjust. The idea is that my class serves you."
Instructor: Katlen Ebert is a Physical Therapist from Germany. In addition to being certified by the Yoga Alliance as a Yoga teacher, she has also graduated from the Loyola Marymount University Yoga Therapy program and practices as a Yoga Therapist.

Alexander Technique
This introductory class will expand your knowledge of the body and how it moves. Not an exercise in the traditional sense, the Alexander Technique applies body alignment principles to reduce stress, fatigue and muscle tension and to counteract chronic pain due to poor posture, neck and shoulder tension and lower back injuries. Highly recommended for stage performers, athletes and public speakers, the Alexander Technique will provide daily benefits to anyone and boost the level of your performance at work and at play. Wear comfortable clothing.

Age-Defying Fitness
Improve your health and well being by adding a balanced workout program to your life. This class will focus on flexibility, strength and balance. Students will cultivate a sense of peace as they become more limber, improve posture, maintain bone density and prevent muscle injury. Weights, thera-bands and body resistance will be used. Bring a mat, two light hand-held weights, Mexican blanket or a thick towel and a thera-band.
Instructor: Jenny Yoon Klossner, M.A. has been practicing Hatha Yoga since 1999. The practice transformed her life physically, mentally, and even relationally which is what motivated her to share this special gift of yoga with others. She received both her 200 and then her 300 hour certification from Yogaworks. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 500 level. She is also certified in YogaEd. Her classes are balanced as she focuses on proper alignment and intelligent sequencing. She teaches yoga, pilates, and strength and stretch classes to adults and seniors throughout the Conejo and the San Fernando Valley. Her teaching is inspired by the profound benefits students express in many areas of their lives. Jenny is also a musician and enjoys singing and playing guitar.

Tai Chi
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese discipline of meditative movements practiced as a system of exercises. The form of Tai Chi known as Wang Style is a natural movement like that of water and wind. It enhances relaxation,
grace, balance and strength. The instructor also incorporates Qigong, an ancient Chinese energy practice that cultivates the body's natural energy. Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear.
Instructor: Doug Herman studied Tai Chi with a Chinese master and teaches, in addition to Tai Chi, numerous subjects from piano to pantomime. He has worked in television, film, radio and theatre.

Hiking for Fitness
Discover the beautiful trails in our local
foothills by joining this hiking class for
fitness. The class will meet at designated trailheads, beginning with a mild/moderate level increasing the challenge each week. The hikes will be in the greater Conejo Valley area.
Session 1 is for novice hikers and Session 2 is for those with hiking experience. Meet at Conejo Valley Adult School's parking lot for the first class and then follow the instructor to the first hiking location. Wear sturdy shoes
with a good tread and comfortable clothing in several light layers. A hat, water, snack and sunscreen are recommended.

Hiking and Yoga in the Santa Monica Mountains
Combine the aerobic benefits of hiking with the stretching and meditative qualities of yoga in a beautiful mountain environment. During the moderate hike, plants indigenous
to the area will be discussed as views of the Conejo Valley are enjoyed. An invigorating yet relaxing outdoor yoga session will follow the hike. Bring a yoga mat or heavy towel and meet at the trail head parking lot.
Instructor: Nellie Cusworth is a certified yoga teacher and an avid hiker who has spent many years exploring trails in the Santa Monica Mountains.
