Patty Limatola-Tanenbaum is a graduate from the Westlake Culinary Institute and she does blogging at MmGood.com where she posts easy recipes with video tutorials. Susan Bernstein is an amazing cook who specializes in easy and delicious recipes. Together Patty and Susan have been doing catering jobs creating amazing dishes and events.graduated from the Academy of Culinary Education (ACE). She is a private chef, culinary instructor and product developer in the Ventura County.

Simple & Sane Detox

You don’t have to make radical changes to allow your body to gently cleanse. Gentle and slow is always wiser. Learn about what it means to “detox” or cleanse the body, juicing vs. blended drinks; what foods support the body in cleansing and when is the best time to allow your body to detox. In this class, Suzanne will demonstrate some delicious light dishes and have students sample blended drinks and delicious green juices. Come away renewed and inspired for a healthier and lighter new year.

Meatless Monday

This course is for students who are not strict vegetarians, but enjoy many meatless meals or the want-to-be vegetarian just learning. Learn the basics of healthy vegetarian cooking. Emphasis will be on proper meal balancing, nutrition, saving time in the kitchen, eating out. Several delicious recipes from soups to entrees and veggie side dishes will be prepared using whole grains, soy protein, legumes, fresh vegetables, herbs and spices.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. This class will explore traditional All-American Thanksgiving recipes with a twist that will wow your guests. We will be preparing Butternut Squash Soup with Crumbled Bacon, Herb Roasted Turkey, Orange Cranberry Sauce, Sweet Potato Casserole (more like a dessert than a side) and Traditional Indian Pudding.

Holiday Tamales
Tamales are a Mexican tradition at almost every type of celebration, most notably at Christmas. The ritual of making tamales should be a collective one, one in which eating the tamale is just as good as the time spent making them. The basics of the tamale are the same, masa on the outside and a filling on the inside. You will participate as well make some traditional flavors and discuss several creative possibilities.
