Cooking with Trader Joe’s

You’ve found all the unique items at your favorite store. Now, what can you do with them? Create interesting, healthful meals with new products and seasonal ingredients. The menu will be determined by the instructor based on what is new and fresh at Trader Joe’s. Due to the popularity of this class, we will offer two sessions. The same recipes will be featured, sign up for only one of these sessions.

Instructors: Lisa Scott and T.J. Tramonto. Lisa Scott is a personal chef who has a B.S. in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics. She has been teaching cooking classes at the adult school for 6 years. T.J. Tramonto is a graduate of Westlake Culinary Institute and a professional caterer.

Sushi for Beginners
Learn about the history, lingo and equipment of sushi followed by the actual art of sushi making. The class will include nigiri, hand roll, maki roll and futomaki roll. Everything will be provided – just come and enjoy!

Instructor: Keith Almond is a sushi chef at a local 5-diamond hotel. He has almost 10 years experience making sushi, and enjoys communicating the often intimidating skills of the art with simple hands-on techniques.
