Basic Techniques for Creative Cooking—
Braising / Microwave / Pressure Cooking

This is the last in a series of demonstration classes designed to teach students some of the basic techniques needed to become knowledgeable and skillful home cooks. Bearing in mind that “basic” is not synonymous with “elementary”, cooks of all levels can benefit from this 4 part course. Learn several methods of sealing in flavors and having them blend either slowly or fast. We will use the Pressure Cooker, Instant Pot, Stovetop and Microwave for delicious results. We will prepare Braised Ribs, Risotto, Vegetable Soup and an interesting Microwave Chocolate Dessert.

Get Saucy!

Often the one difference between a good meal and a great meal is a sauce, marinade, or dressing to increase the flavor factor. In this class, you’ll learn how to make easy and delicious sauces, marinades, and dressings using ingredients you likely already have in your pantry. You’ll learn about using salt, acid, fat, and spice to improve your dinners. This class is not about classic sauces. Its aim is to give you a number of easy recipes you can use over and over again to create tasty meals for yourself, your family, and your friends.
