Room Design Boot Camp |

without being overwhelmed by the command
decisions and choices? If so, then enlist in this
4-part Interior Design Workshop! You’ll get all
the training and strategies required to launch
a real plan of attack. Create your own floor
plan and a wants-and-needs list. We’ll cover
color coordination, flooring, paint, window
treatments, trim and accessories - all within a
realistic personal budget! Sound good? Then
Fall In Design Soldier.
Instructor: Susan Pritchard is the owner of Susan
Pritchard Interior Design. She has been
designing for Ventura County clients since
1996. She was voted a Ventura County
Favorite in 2009 and 2010 and has been
featured on two “Famous Homes and
Hideaways” episodes.

| Orchid Overview |

This course will teach how to identify different
types of orchids, how to select appropriate
outdoor plants for our climate and how to care
for and grow strong and beautiful plants. The
class will also include the nuances of repotting
orchids and which chemicals are safe to use.
Each student will receive an orchid plant!
Instructor: George Hatfield is the owner of Hatfield Orchids, a published author in plant publications and an orchid judge locally and as far away as Tokyo.

At the last class we will go on a field trip to the Pacific Design Center where we will see all the best in baths!

Romancing the Bedroom
Is your Master bedroom always the last to
be decorated? Do you dream of having
that romantic “hide-a-way” room where you
can retreat after a long day? You don’t
have to break the bank to “romanticize your
bedroom”. In this class you will learn how to
use “what you have” and add romance and
sophistication to your most intimate of spaces.
Topics to be covered are: proper fabrics,
lighting techniques, furniture placement,
romantic “Feng Shui”, mood creation and
accessorizing.

Rx: Home Accessorizing |

Has your home fallen ill? Cure the “decorating
blahs” with the design techniques and
procedures that are offered in this workshop
series. Each student will be required to bring
at least six items from home. Examples are:
candlesticks, picture frames, vases, lamps,
collection pieces, artwork, etc. Bring some of
the items you love and some that you have
no idea what to do with. Points of discussion
are: proper placement of artwork and picture
hanging, table arrangements, rug placement,
bookcases and curio cabinets, proper heights
and angles and spatial unity.
