Heartsaver CPR
The Heartsaver CPR Course teaches checking the victim, how to phone for help, CPR, the use of the AED (automated external defibrillator) and the signs and relief of choking in adults, children and infants, and the use of barrier devices for all ages. This course is designed to train those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency in the workplace or community. Participants will receive a course completion card. American Heart Association
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider CPR
The BLS Healthcare Provider Course covers core materials such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrilation (AED). It is intended for participants who provide healthcare to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital. Healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists who must have credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course. Heartsaver First Aid
. The Heartsaver First Course teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and trat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency medical services personnel arrive. This course covers Basic First Aid steps for medical emergencies (breathing problems, chest pain, fainting, diabetes, stroke, shock, seizures), injury emergencies (bleeding, broken bones, sprains, internal bleeding, burns, electrocution), and environmental emergencies (bites, stings, poinsons emergencies, temperature-related emergencies). This course is designed to train anyone who might be the first to respond to an emergency in the workplace or community. Participants will receive a course completion card.

Pediatric First Aid / CPR
The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course is designed to meet the regulatory
and credentialed training requirements for child care workers in all 50 states.
This course teaches basic first aid, CPR, and AED skills for children such as:
• What to do when a child or infant has a breathing problem
• Giving compressions and breaths to an infant or child
• Stopping bleeding that can be seen
People who may need this course include:
• Child care workers • Camp counselors • Teachers • Youth Group Leaders
• Foster care workers • Coaches • Others responsible for children

Online BLS, CPR & First Aid Classes
You can complete coursework for Heartsaver CPR, First Aid or BLS at home and at your own pace! Simply register on the American Heart Association website: onlineaha.org.
This online class satisfies all requirements that the full classroom sessions do and is available for first time or renewals. Once your coursework is complete online, simply make an appointment for a skills date and bring in your certificate of completion to the class for a skills assessment. (AHA charges a separate fee for the online course.) Skills tests can be taken after any of the classes above. Call for a test time (805) 497-2761 ext. 1107.
