Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Register now for Winter & Spring 2012 offerings. Hurry! Many classes fill quickly.

One of the fastest growing careers today! Our EMT program will prepare you for work with an ambulance service, in an emergency room or for work in a clinical setting as well as being a prerequisite for firefighting or paramedic careers. Upon successful completion of course and final exam, students will receive EMT-1 Course Certificate of Completion and will then qualify to take the National Registry exam which certifies students as EMT-1 in the State of California for a period of 2 years.

 
 
EMT Program
Course includes: 150 hours of medical theory combined with practical skills and 10 hours of clinical experience including "ride-alongs" with emergency transport providers in the County of Ventura. The course includes a mandatory full-day class in "CPR for the Healthcare Provider" from the American Heart Association the Saturday before each session.

EMT Basic, Refresher Course
Two 12-hour sessions for those with EMT Basic certification who wish to re-certify. The course is based up Department of Transportation’s (DOT) 1994 EMT-Basic curriculum. Coursework includes: Preparatory, Airway Management, Patient Assessment, Medical Emergencies, Trauma Emergencies, Infants and Children.
