UCP, Founded in 1949, is a nationwide network consisting of a central national organization, located in Washington, D.C. and over 100 independent, state and local non-profit affiliates. UCP is the leading source of information on cerebral palsy and is a pivotal advocate for the rights of all people with disabilities. In fact, 65% of the people UCP serves have a disability other than cerebral palsy. UCP is one of the nation's most efficient charities, with a system-wide average of 85% of all revenues going to programs.

For disabled adults, work during the day is the first option. For those who can't work, lifelong learning is the second best option. We provide lifelong learning to our clients. Throughout society lifelong learning is being embraced as a valued and sought out endeavor.

More than thirty clients utilize this program, which is administered by United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara County in coordination with the Principal's office of the Conejo Valley Adult School.

There are three classes provided throughout the day, with adaptive technology our computer driven Learning Resource Center, Physical Effectiveness with a wide range of exercise equipment, and All Things Discussed, an ongoing discussion group on many topics.

Our Local UCP

UCP of Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties was founded in 1945 by a small group of parents who wanted to create community-based services for their children with disabilities, during a time when no such services existed. Today UCP operates over 40 program sites throughout five counties in Southern California and has extended its mission to serve all people with disabilities.
