 Registration

The Parenting Program classes run from September through June, and are ongoing throughout the school year. Initial registration for the upcoming school year begins in March/April and continues until classes are full. A non-refundable full fee payment for the first quarter is collected in March to hold a space in the class for fall.

The Conejo Valley Adult School Catalog lists The Parenting Program classes quarterly. Due to the fact that the classes technically begin in September, there may or may not be space available in all classes at quarterly points throughout the year.

You can enroll and join classes at any time providing there is space available. Please call The Parenting Program Office at the Horizon Hills Campus (805) 492-8837 to check current availability for appropriate classes.

Currently enrolled students and alumni are given initial priority registration for the upcoming school year.  After this, Fall registration is opened to the community. (tours for multi-age and interest lists begin mid-January)

During the remainder of the year, enrollment priority is determined based on current wait lists, if any. All openings after wait lists are exhausted are filled on a first come, first served basis.

Group tours for the community are given for multi-age classes beginning in mid-January. There are no formal group tours given for the infant, toddler and two-year old classes. When joining any class mid-year, please arrange an individual tour with the office. It is our recommendation that you attend the group tour without your pre-school age children if at all possible. This will allow you to observe and ask questions without any distractions. If you would like to have your child (multi-age only) tour and experience the class before signing up, please arrange a second visit with the office.

In infant, toddler and 2 year old classes, you may enroll and attend a maximum of one day per week. This policy follows the recommendations of Developmentally Appropriate Practice for this age group.

In multi-age classes, (3, 4 & 5 year olds) you may enroll in a Tuesday/Thursday class, a Monday/Wednesday/Friday class or a combination of both. (5 days) Things to consider are;

The maturity level and temperament of the child, the parent's energy and available time for participation, and personal economics.

The Parenting Program strives to accommodate all students. If you need to make a special payment arrangement, we are happy to work with you. Please discuss your needs with a teacher or our Program Coordinator, Eilene Green.
